I was in the area while geocaching. I had a the 6 inch cappacola sandwich.. This was really a great sandwich. The bread is what happen this sandwich so great... it was perfectly toasted. I def will come back and is going to be added to my bookmarks so when I am in the area I will remember to come back here.

They are tasty! I do prefer the Clarion location... that's where I was introduced to Bob's Subs... but this place is pretty darn close, the bread is different. Anyway... tasty yes, but I couldn't tell you what the 'meat' is actually made of... yikes!

You already can deduce this place has at least great subs or potentially the best. To me, what really matters is that these are easily the best subs for what they cost. A few places in my life have been as delicious as Bob's, but have done so for three times the price. Stop by here if you are visiting the rock. Completely worth your time and money.

Bobs subs was a small place to eat subs. This place was cash only so be prepared. It was empty and I almost felt bad. The menu had a lot of choices and I decided to order a giant Pastrami sandwich ($6 total). I waited a few minutes which gave me time to take pictures of the interior. The Pastrami sandwich was good and was enough for me to get full. I wanted everything on my sub except onions. My Pastrami sandwich was good and the giant size would be equivalent to a footlong. There was parking in the back but it was small. I thought this was a pretty good place for subs.

for the area, yes, it exceeds expectations and surprises patrons with its bold flavors. how can something as mundane as a sandwich be elevated to something as delicious as Bob's transcends it? The secret, I hypothesize, is the crack they sprinkle on each sub while no one is looking. the subs are pretty darn good and uncomplicated. you get a huge helping yumminess and quick service. i'd come back, but i'd hard pressed to call it amazing.

While in the Army and in Iraq I dreamed for some Bobs Subs. Now that I have moved back to the area - I'm not disappointed. AND THEY TAKE CREDIT CARDS NOW!!!

The secret's in the sauce. And by sauce, I mean mayonnaise. Bob's will ruin all future Subway meals for you, and you won't even care. There are no bad choices on the menu, but I recommend the Turkey, the Capicola, or the Super. Pro tip: order a 12" or larger--you will want leftovers. Bob's Subs: "The best in America."

What a sub should be. My favorite is the roast beef with mushrooms!

The true landmark of slippery rock, the mayonnaise , it's the best... As odd as that sounds , go get a sandwich and t shirt , it's a tradition

Best place ever! No one can beat Bobs Subs!

This place was good! I ordered the turkey/ham sandwich. The bread was delicious! There is way too much mayo though. So much that I had to scrape off two spoons full of mayo from the bread. But despite the extra mayo, I'll go again and you should too.

They don't do a lot of things here, but what they do they do right. I feel like I can speak as a bit of an authority on the world famous Bob's Sub's having worked here for 4 out of the 5 1/2 years I spent in this fine town working my way towards a 4 yr. degree. It basically hasn't changed in the decade since I left. I was here over the weekend with a bunch of old college friends and this was a must stop. It's got a certain charm to it, but not really the type you might expect. It's a big building with big windows and normal booths and tables. It has a few customary video games and a regular sized tv with a big sign warning students not to touch. The building is big enough for two other businesses, but this business is the only occupant. They have great t-shirts that say "Slippery Rock USA" on the back most likely because I think this is the only Slippery Rock in any state. They don't serve anything fried and no fountain drinks. Don't ask for 1/2 subs of anything they have three sizes, junior 6", senior 12" and giant (basically a senior but wider). So instead of a 12" 1/2 no mayo, 1/2 xtra onions e.g. get two juniors. They only serve chips as size and only one sub comes hot. It's the hot pastrami and it's delicious. They don't have anything exotic, no cheesesteaks, no grilled chicken, go elsewhere for these. However, if you want a great deli sub on a grilled bun with lots of mayo and oil this is the place. Again, go with the pastrami if you want a sub hot it's the only one they'll heat up. In my opinion, stay away from the normal stuff like ham or turkey and try corned beef, cappicola, roast beef etc. If you really want something hot they will comply with a hot sandwich (not sub) on a kaiser roll. The meats are okay quality and the toppings are fine, but without a doubt what makes the sub is the great bread and the fact that it's toasted. This is a must visit if you're in the area.

Bob's Subs has been a Slippery Rock institution for over 20 years. Everyone has a favourite. My personal favourite was an all cheese because I was vegetarian at the time. I think it's time for a revisit since animals have become part of my diet again. Bob's is a required stop in Slippery Rock if food is even slightly on your mind. It really is the number one stop in this tiny college town.

I've eaten here four times now. The first two times, I wasn't impressed and wasn't sure what people were raving about - the chicken salad and meatball subs were nothing to write home about. Then I got a plain turkey sub (with the standard lettuce, tomato, mayo, italian), and it was great on the toasted bread. Got it a second time a few weeks ago, and was just as great. I'll be sticking to that order in the future. Not sure why everyone raves about the bread...seems pretty standard to me. Cash only, no frills place - COLD in the winter.

Bobs sub is a must if you are in Slippery Rock. Prices are slightly better than subway and quality doesn't even compare. It is always packed during homecoming weekend but usually you can just walk in and be eating within 10 minutes.

Bob's is fantastic. So fantastic, in fact, that I plan my trips to Pittsburgh around when Bob's is open. The subs are really good, and the last time I ventured out and tried the deli-style sandwich on rye, it was also really good. A couple notes: --cash only --it is always cold, so take a jacket --they are sometimes closed for days at a time, so call ahead

Awesome. We regularly travel WELL out of the way to pick up subs to go. Genoa and Roast beef are our favorites. Don't be fooled by the knockoff jerk restaurant in Pittsburgh..

Oh, Bob's Sub! Oh, sweet staff of life! I have been going to Bob's Subs since 1990, when I was a youngster attending Slippery Rock University. Ever since I graduated, I have always made it a point to occasionally drive the hour north from where I grew up near Pittsburgh to partake in a fine Bob's sub. Even though I moved away from PA, a trip to see my family isn't complete without a side visit to the Rock and Bob's. Now--do you like submarine sandwiches, also known as hoagies or subs? If you do, then you should try Bob's Subs. While I haven't tried every sandwich that they offer, the ones that I do get regularly--the Capicola and the Ham & Turkey--are wonderful. The bread is warm and fresh, the shredded lettuce crisp, and the Italian Dressing and Mayonnaise are always tasty (Some people get overwhelmed with the amount of mayo, but I don't eat mayo that often. Personally, I've never bitten into a Bob's sub and thought, "Wow, that's too much mayo." Usually, my first thought has been "Oh dear god, this is the most amazing sub ever.") Bring your cash (only), order a sub, and sit back amongst the Penguins and Steelers memorabilia while you wait for your sub. Save the tab from your pop can and stick it in the box on top of the recycling bin on your way out.

I ordered the corned beef sandwich with mustard. Man at the counter said ALL sandwiches come with mayo, lettuce and tomato. Who puts mayo on corned beef? The corned beef tasted more like baloney. The bread tasted a day old. I was not impressed at all with this hero. I should have went to the supermarket and bought some cold cuts and bread. It would have been much better. The sub was reasonably priced. The place was crowded with college kids. Hit this place only if stoned and starving.

So good in every way. Particularly enjoy the capicola or turkey subs with lots of Mayo! The bread, produce, and meat are always fresh and tasty. You can't go wrong here if you like subs.

The bread is awesome, but the meat quality is ok. Not a bad sandwich for the price. The staff was polite and looked like they enjoyed working there.

Bob's is an institution in Western PA college towns. There used to be one in Clarion and Edinboro (not sure if they're still in business). This sub shop has been serving college students for over 30 years! Toasted buns, mayo that possibly is laced with some addictive drug, lots of fresh cut deli meats. This is cash only and don't anticipate sitting in the restaurant as it's DEPRESSING! Get it to go and go to the park and eat. Don't come hear if you don't like subs, cause that's all they got!

Cash only. Comparing to Subway, their turkey sub had a lot of meat. All around friendly staff. Small sub (6") and bottled juice was about $6. Place was clean and decorated with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fanfare.

Meat and bread is always super fresh here, and the price is just right. I try to make a point to stop at Bob's anytime I'm driving through Slippery Rock. They offer one of the best subs around. It's definitely a superior and more inexpensive hoagie than anything at Subway. I usually get the super, which is the Italian sub there, or the roast beef. Buy your friends lunch without breaking the bank!

I had the Junior Super & my daughter has the meatball sub. We stopped by for a late lunch after an SRU tour & lacrosse clinic. Very filling and tasted great. Good job, Bob's Subs!

I gotta hand it to Bob, whoever he is. If I could see him right now, I'd firmly shake his hand with about 68 pounds of mayo on my hand because apparently that's what he likes to put on his subs... But trust me... I'm not complaining. If bob puts 68 pounds of that mayo on my sub - I'm good. If he puts 70 pounds on - I'm even better! I think you get my point... This mayo is just downright tasty and the more the better if you ask me. And since you're reading this review, you're asking me. And I'm tellin ya! The bread and meat is pretty bad if I'm telling you the truth, but it doesn't matter once your spread on 38 tons of that mayo on one of those bad boys. And by bad I mean good. So on one of these GOOD boys. Anyway, the atmosphere is top notch. The building is about 900 years old but the Mario Lemieux and jaromir jagr posters inside are hilarious. So that makes up for it. Also there is an old TV inside that you aren't allowed to touch. But they usually have a decent channel on so its kind of okay. Well, I couldn't go to sleep tonight unless I told you folks how damn good this mayo is. And it's damn good. So now I can sleep well and you can dream of this dreamy mayonnaise. 3 stars for mayo alone. Thanks.
